4. The mirror's buttons
Each light on your mirror has its own touch button on the glass — one for the front light, one for the back light (depending on which your model has). Three gestures cover everything:

Tap — on and off
A single tap toggles the light. The light responds a short moment after the tap — the mirror briefly waits to see whether a double-tap is coming. Turning on brings back the brightness and tone the light had before, with a gentle fade.
Double-tap — white tones
A double-tap steps through three tones of white: warm (candle-like), neutral, and cool (daylight-like), then back to warm. Double-tapping a light that is off turns it on as well. If the light is currently between two tones (see chapter 6 on natural light), the cycle simply continues from the nearest one.
Hold — dimming
Hold the button and the light sweeps smoothly through its brightness range; let go at the level you like. Each new hold sweeps in the opposite direction — if it dimmed last time, it brightens next time. Holding from off always brightens, starting near the bottom. Dimming all the way down turns the light off.
One detail: a hold longer than about six seconds locks in the level on its own — the button then waits for you to actually lift your finger before it listens again. (And a much longer hold — 15 seconds — is a deliberate, separate gesture: it opens WiFi recovery, chapter 3.)
The button's glow
Each button has its own colored glow, separate from the mirror's white light. You choose its color and intensity in the app (chapter 5) — and it can show a different color while your finger is on the button. The glow remembers its color even after a power cut.
Blue pulsing is special: a button pulsing blue once a second means the mirror is in WiFi setup mode (chapter 3).
Always on duty
The buttons work in every situation — with or without WiFi, before pairing, during software downloads. Local control at the glass is never interrupted by anything except the brief restart at the end of a software update (chapter 7).
