5. Controlling from the app
Once the mirror is paired and online, the app mirrors the glass — whatever changes at the mirror shows up in the app instantly, and the other way around.
The home screen
Your mirror's card shows at a glance:
- whether the mirror is online,
- the indoor temperature and humidity it measures,
- whether someone is present at the mirror right now.
If you have more than one mirror, switch between them at the top of the screen.
Lights
Each light has a tile on the home screen and a full control view behind it. You can:
- turn the light on or off,
- set the brightness,
- set the white tone anywhere between warm and cool — not just the three tones the button cycles through,
- or pick one of four presets: Reading, Relax, Energize, and Makeup.
Changes fade in gently on the mirror, exactly as if you had used the button. If someone at the mirror changes the light while you are looking at the app, the app updates in front of you.
Button glow
In the mirror's controls you'll find a card for each touch button. Choose the color of its glow, its intensity, or switch the glow off entirely; you can also see the color it shows while pressed. The mirror remembers your choice even across power cuts.
Indoor climate
The temperature and humidity on the mirror's card come from the mirror's own sensor. A fresh reading arrives shortly after the mirror powers on, then roughly every 15 minutes. The presence indicator switches to "no motion" after about three minutes of stillness.
Mirror details and settings
From the mirror's controls you can open:
- Details — the mirror's name, serial number, software version, when it was paired, and when movement was last seen.
- Settings — the mirror's name and room, the timezone (used by circadian lighting, chapter 6), the Circadian lighting and Motion lighting switches with the Turn off after wait (chapter 6), and the Network section (chapter 3).
Name and room
In the settings' General section you can rename the mirror at any time — the new name shows up everywhere in the app. Next to it, Room lets you note where the mirror hangs ("Bathroom", "Guest room"): pick one of your rooms, create a new one right in the picker, or choose No room. Rooms are just labels to keep several mirrors apart — changing them never affects the mirror itself.
When the mirror is offline
You can still use the app — changes you make are saved and the mirror catches up the moment it reconnects. The card just shows it as offline in the meantime.
