6. Smart lighting
Your mirror can take care of its light on its own in two ways: circadian lighting matches the light to the time of day, and motion lighting turns it on when you walk up to it. Both are optional, and both are switched on in the app under your mirror's settings.
Circadian lighting
With Circadian lighting switched on, the mirror matches its light to the time of day — cool and bright when you need to wake up, warm and gentle late at night — without you touching anything.
What it feels like
- Turn the light on in the morning and it comes up bright and cool, like daylight.
- Turn it on late in the evening and it comes up warm and dim, easy on the eyes.
- Leave it on and it keeps adjusting, so slowly you won't catch it moving — a light switched on at noon has eased into its warm evening tone by night.
Roughly through the day:

You always have the last word
Circadian lighting only ever adjusts what you haven't chosen yourself — and it treats brightness and tone separately:
- Dim the light by hand (hold the button, or use the app) — your brightness stays; the tone keeps following the day.
- Pick a tone yourself (double-tap, a preset, or the app) — your tone stays; the brightness keeps following the day.
Your choice holds until the light is next switched off. The next turn-on starts fresh from the time of day.
Turning it on
In the app, open your mirror's settings and switch on Circadian lighting. Make sure the mirror's timezone is set on the same screen — the feature follows your local time.
Two practical notes:
- The mirror learns the exact time from the internet. Without a network connection, circadian lighting pauses and the light simply returns to whatever you last set — everything else keeps working.
- With circadian lighting switched off, the mirror behaves classically: each turn-on restores the brightness and tone from last time.
Motion lighting
With Motion lighting switched on, the mirror notices you coming and turns its light on for you — then turns it off again once you have been away for a while. It all happens inside the mirror, so it keeps working even with no internet connection.
What it feels like
- Walk up to the mirror and the light comes on by itself. If your mirror has both a front and a back light, both come on together.
- It comes on exactly as if you had pressed the button — so with circadian lighting on, it arrives at the brightness and tone that suit the hour.
- Walk away and the light stays on a while longer, then goes off on its own.
How long it waits
The mirror doesn't switch off the moment you stop moving. It first waits until it is sure nobody is there any more, which takes about three minutes of stillness — and only then does your chosen wait begin.

Coming back before it goes off simply cancels the countdown.
You always have the last word
- Switch the light off by hand and the mirror won't fight you — it won't light up again until you have actually left and come back.
- Switch it on by hand while nobody is at the mirror and it stays on: a countdown that was already running is cancelled.
- Powering the mirror on never lights it up by itself.
- The wait applies to a light you switched on, too — leave it on and walk away, and the mirror eventually turns it off for you.
Turning it on
In the app, open your mirror's settings, switch on Motion lighting, then tap Turn off after to choose the wait — anything from Right away up to 60 minutes.
Changing either setting never disturbs a light that is on right now. Switching motion lighting off also cancels a countdown in progress and leaves the light exactly as it is.
